Meet the Faculty: Jonathan Galli, MD

Dr. Galli

Jonathan R. Galli, MD, completed his residency here at the University of Utah’s School of Medicine. He is now an important part of the Department of Neurology’s Autoimmune Division, an assistant professor, an attending at the local VA hospital, and a visiting instructor. And here are some of his favorite things!

What are your hobbies? Hiking, snowboarding, running, playing soccer (I’m a huge Arsenal fan), and cooking. I also dabble in pretending I am an artist and carpenter.

What is your favorite meal/dessert? This is tough. I like so many things! If I had to pick, probably a sushi date with my wife.

What are one or two things you want to learn to do? To get better at woodworking and actually get my German Shepard, Lucy, to listen during her training.

What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? My wife and little boy, Jack.

What song always gets you out on the dance floor? “Your Love” - The Outfield

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? I think people would be surprised by how quickly I feel like I am back to being a kid when snowboarding or on the soccer field.

Name one thing on your bucket list. Watch an Arsenal game at the Emirates.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? Wide receiver in the NFL—my mother laughed at me when I told her this.

What is the best concert you’ve ever attended? Third Eye Blind - Summer Gods Tour.

What is your favorite thing about your career? I absolutely love the long-term relationships I have with my multiple sclerosis patients; they are just amazing individuals who are so rewarding to care for.
