WELCOME TO THE UTAH END INSTITUTE
About
The Utah END Institute is a training and educational program for neurodiagnostic technologists. It is a subsidiary of University of Utah Health at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Those enrolled in the Institute receive specialized clinical training in recording the electrical activity of the nervous system. Technologists learn to operate various instruments and equipment. They develop skills and techniques to provide the best quality neurodiagnostic studies available.
The program and its staff are dedicated to excellence, quality care, and exceptional patient service.
Accreditation
The Utah END Institute’s In-Person Course is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of CoA-NDT and is eligible for Pathway I testing for the R. EEG T. from ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation. The Online Correspondence Course is a Current ABRET Recognized Formal NDT/END Program and is eligible for Pathway II testing for the R. EEG T. from ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation.
Admission Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age by the program start date
- High school diploma or successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) exam
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of program start date
- A minimum GPA (from the most recently attended educational institution) of 3.2 is required for admission to UEI. Any exceptions will be considered by the UEI Board of Directors when extenuating circumstances exist
- Application submission
- Interview with program director and/or administrative director
- Must be a US Resident
- Must demonstrate high English language comprehension and proficiency. For International and second-language English speakers, we follow the English language proficiency requirements of the University of Utah, which can be found at https://admissions.utah.edu/apply/international/english-proficiency/
