Overview
Online correspondence course applicants are considered based on the qualifications outlined in the admission requirements below. All applicants that meet the minimum criteria will be considered competitively; however, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

The Utah END Institute (UEI) is proud to offer a program for members of the Neurodiagnostics Field who are interested in preparing for the ABRET® R. EEG Exam. People accepted into our Online Correspondence Program (OCP) will have access to a four-section course designed to provide them with the information they need to prepare for this exam. Our OCP is designed to take one year, and students, upon completing the course, will receive a certificate of completion that will qualify them to take the ABRET® R. EEG Exam through Pathway II. Admission Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years of age by the program start date.
- A high school diploma or successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) exam is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of program start date, is required.
- A minimum GPA (from the most recently attended educational institution) of 3.2 is required for admission to UEI. Any exceptions will be considered by the UEI Board of Directors when extenuating circumstances exist.
- An application submission is required.
- An interview with the program director and/or administrative director is required.
- You must be a US resident.
- You must demonstrate high English language comprehension and proficiency. For International and second-language English speakers, we follow the English language proficiency requirements of the University of Utah, which can be found at https://admissions.utah.edu/apply/international/english-proficiency/.
- You must be a current EEG technologist.
Requirements After Acceptance into the Program
- A background check is required.
- Annual influenza vaccination is required.
- UEI students are responsible for obtaining necessary immunizations and/or documentation of their immunizations and submitting this documentation to the Work Wellness Center by the designated UEI program onboarding deadlines. All University of Utah Health clinical students must comply with the same health/ immunization requirements as newly hired employees at U of U Health.
Advanced Placement and Transfer of Credits
The Utah END Institute does not accept transfer credits from any organization other than an ASET NDT program. If a student has enrolled in the ASET NDT program outside the University of Utah, any courses completed within six months of enrollment will be accepted for transfer.
Credits for Experiential Learning
The Utah END Institute does not currently offer credit for experiential learning, however, upon acceptance to the program, students may submit an experiential learning credit petition via a written statement to the program director. Petitions will be reviewed and considereed on a case-by-case basis.
