Q: Can I obtain college credit hours upon completion of the program?

A: No. This course is for EEG technologists wanting to take the ABRET® R. EEG Exam through Pathway II.

Q: Is the program accredited?

A: The UEI OCP is not accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), but it is a current ABRET® “Recognized Formal NDT/END Program” and uses the same curriculum content from our in-person course, which CAAHEP accredits.

Q: How long is the program?

A: The program is up to 1 year long, divided into four academic quarters.

Q: How do I become a registered technologist?

A: You must first successfully graduate from the UEI program and then apply to take a national registry examination. The cost for this test is $700. Upon completing this exam, you will be granted your national registry.

Q: Does the UEI program offer financial aid?

A: Unfortunately, no. Because we are a hospital-based program, we cannot offer some benefits usually available when attending a college or university, including financial aid.

Q: Do I have to work as an EEG Technologist to be accepted into the program?

A: Yes. You must have worked in the field of EEG for at least 90 days and have enough hours in an EEG technologist position to ensure you will complete 100 EEG tests during the length of the Program.

Also, you will need a sound support system from other EEG technologists. This course aims to help EEG technologists educate themselves, using our materials, to meet the requirements of the ABRET® R. EEG Exam through Pathway II. Without support from others in the field, you may have trouble finding answers to your questions about the content. The program's low cost is because we offer very limited assistance from our in-person instructors to learn the content provided.
