Please join us in offering a warm welcome to our new neuromuscular fellows, Midori Eckenstein, MD, and Brittany Passiak, MD! These two neurologists are joining us for a one-year training opportunity to gain more expertise in the field of neuromuscular medicine.
Midori Eckenstein
Dr. Eckenstein is joining us following her graduation from training in adult neurology here at the University of Utah, where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She originally hails from Vermont, where she also completed undergraduate training as well as medical school, and earned the Lucille Markey Award for Molecular Genetics. She has a particular clinical and research interest in ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, aka Lou Gehrig's disease).
Brittany Passiak
Dr. Passiak has come to us after completing her pediatric neurology fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, where she also earned a degree in neuroscience, earned her MD, and won the prestigious Richard Johnson Physician-Scientist Award. Dr. Passaik is a pediatric neurologist, and during her fellowship, she will split her time among the University of Utah Clinical Neurosciences Center, the Primary Children's Hospital, and the Shriners Hospital for Children.
Our department looks forward to working as a team with these fellows to deliver excellent patient care as well as advance our mission of investigative research.
