Headshot of Melissa Cortez

Melissa Cortez, DO

Within the division, I focus on . . .

Dr. Cortez’s clinical and research focus is on the development and implementation of novel, patient-centered interventions for "network disorders" affecting autonomic and sensory function—including traumatic brain injury, headache disorders, POTS, MS, autoimmune diseases, and post-infectious syndromes. She contributes to the advanced training of residents and fellows in both clinical and research domains. Her overarching goal is to improve understanding of the underlying physiology driving her patients’ symptoms while advancing education to peers and trainees, and implementing her research in service of new diagnostic strategies, targeted treatment selection, and improved functional outcomes.
