About Me
Daniel was born and raised in Snohomish, Washington, where he developed a love for the outdoors and hiking in the mountains. He pursued a degree in Exercise Science at Brigham Young University (Go Cougs!). While in Provo, Utah, Daniel spent two years first as a mentor and then as a high school chemistry and physical education teacher for teenagers on the autism spectrum at The Spark Academy.
He went on to attend medical school at the Penn State College of Medicine (We Are!). During his time in Pennsylvania, Daniel volunteered at the Lion Care Clinic, serving individuals experiencing homelessness in Harrisburg, and expanded his research interests in medical education. His work focused on the lived experiences of individuals with disabilities and the use of AI-moderated patient actors.
Daniel’s passion for neurology began with his father, who has lived with Parkinson’s disease for over a decade, and continued to grow as he explored the field’s rapid advancements and complexity. Outside of medicine, Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the outdoors, following college wrestling, and watching the show Survivor with friends.
